Why Halwel began
The person should not disappear from the process.
Halwel grew from a personal experience of having to become a more active steward of health: gathering the facts, questioning assumptions, and deciding carefully what to do next. It made one thing clear. People should not have to become experts—or fight the system—to remain active participants in their own care.
That experience shaped a model of supported agency. The person remains the steward. Clinicians bring medical judgment. The system should make evidence, options, and follow-up easier to hold together.

Agency needs a system that holds.
Evidence, clinical judgment, pharmacy fulfillment, follow-up, and records should reinforce one another, rather than becoming separate burdens for the patient to coordinate.
